MEMORANDUM OF COOPERATION BETWEEN GIZ AND IFAS ICSD

On 27 July 2021 Interstate Commission on Sustainable Development (ICSD) of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (German federal enterprise for international cooperation) singed MEMORANDUM OF COOPERATION in the area of environmental protection, climate change resilience and sustainable use of natural resources. The memorandum will support to the Central Asian countries in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals through interstate cooperation. GIZ will realize activities within the framework of 4 Programmes, implemented on behalf of the German government: Integrative and Climate-sensitive Land Use in Central Asia, Ecologically-oriented Regional Development of the Aral Sea Region, Green Central Asia, and Supporting Green Economy in Kazakhstan and Central Asia for low-carbon economic development.
The Memorandum was singed during the Fourth Central Asia Climate Change Conference (CACCC-2021) in Dushanbe (Tajikistan).
The Fourth Central Asia Climate Change Conference (CACCC-2021) is organised as part of the Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Program for Aral Sea Basin (CAMP4ASB) project, funded by the World Bank.
