December 2, 2021. Yesterday, the first meeting of the ECO-ARAL Project Management Committee has been conducted in Nur-Sultan. The committee was established to coordinate the activities of the project, as well as to develop the key directions and coordination of activities carried out in the framework of the project.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, akimats of Kyzylorda and Mangistau provinces, the Executive Office of International Fund for Saving Aral Sea to the Republic of Kazakhstan, UNDP and the Association of Environmental Organizations of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting the project team shared the project results of 2021, presented and discussed the work plan for 2022. Along the discussions numerous comments and suggestions for action within project were received from members of the project management committee and other participants of the meeting. The participants also expressed their gratitude for the organization of the meeting and hope for further cooperation.
